Arrived Hersin about 2 – Instructed that with Section3 I w to march off the Bully Grenay to be attached to the 1/4 London R.E. – the other sections were to go to Aix Noulette. Left Hersin about 5 and got to Bully about 7 – men billeted in an old house damaged by she’ll fire – I joined the London R.E. Officers in their billet – a very nice house with a very nice garden – Two infantry working parties, each 80 strong with an officer had arrived from Howe and Hawk battalions for instruction in dug out construction under the 3rd Field Co. R.N.D.E. Went up to trenches with small party of infantry to clear ground for one of works to be started tomorrow.
