After lunch went to Gonay and ported to Maj. Aveling of the 3rd Field – About 5 they received orders that they had to move to Villers au Bois – Inthe rain I set off with advance party – found spot in a wood perfectly situated – lately vacated by 2nd Field – Set to work in rain and dark to put up tents – Company arrived about 9.30. Officers had to sleep in a brick hut through the corrugated roof of which the rain dropped – five of us packed as closely as possible with the Major in the annexe. Had to put down our own beds and got in without any dinner.
