But for the rain our present quarters would be delightful but heavy showers very frequently make the wood very wet. The evening was very wet and the trenches just about as dismal, mucky and miserable as could be imagined – commenced constructing entrance to deep dug out with (word unclear) frames. Left about 2.15 and got back to camp about 3.15 after a wet dreary march.
