In morning light sea fog which gradually thinned – beautiful day with hot sun – sighted French coast (Hyeres) at 3.30. Slight haze on horizon prevented very clear view of the coastline. This haze got thinner and we had a most delightful sail along this very beautiful coast – the entrance to Marseilles harbour is very fine indeed. We got in just about 7, with our band playing and almost everybody on deck. It was a glorious evening. We shall disembark tomorrow.
