Another beautiful day, bright sunshine and calm sea – all day long were more or less in sight of the African coast. Again saw quite a lot of shipping a number of ships being sailing vessels. In the afternoon sighted three small vessels each with a tug being towed along with small war vessel as escorts. These small vessels were either submarines or boats disguised to look like submarines or small monitors. The sports in the afternoon were very good, the naval Division Officers Tug o’ War Team winning their round – ships orders warn everybody that we are now in danger zone and forbid lights, cigarettes or striking matches on deck after dark.
