In the Mediterranean – sea smooth as glass. Bright warm sun but cool breeze – everybody on board in good health and cheerful spirits.

Parade in morning, sports in afternoon. There are about 6,000 troops on board and 400 officers. Besides R.N.D. there are New Zealand and Australian troops, Scottish Horse, Highland L.I., a draft 90 strong of Derbyshire Yeomanry, Welsh Fusiliers, 10th Middlesex etc. Sighted a town on African coast which was said to be Algiers, also mountains with peaks covered with snow. Saw more shipping than on any previous day.
